Lake Tahoe "Jewel of the Sierra"

Few places in California offer views comparable to those at Emerald Bay.  Glacier carved granite forms the back drop for this national landmark.  Near the center of the bay is Fannette Island, the only island in Lake Tahoe.

This is a picture of a tree in the reflection of the water.  The rock formations underneath make it look like a Christmas Tree.
Rising from the island in Emerald Bay is a Stone Turret.
Here we are at church.  The South Lake Tahoe ward is always very welcoming to visitors.  Interesting fact is that there is usually more visitors in attendance than there are actual members.  We have been coming here for more than 21 years and is a fun tradition.

My family has a cabin in the mountains above Cedar City, UT where they have (well, had) outdoor church every Sunday all summer long in a campground park. It was SO incredibly fun as a kid. Especially if the thunderclouds rolled in and we got to run for the car early. I just remember sitting on giant log for "Primary" and watching the giant ants crawl past. They stopped doing outside church a couple of years ago and it's made my family so sad.
